BuddyLeague

Privacy policy

BuddyLeague is run by Eirik H as a free service for keeping track of leagues and competitions. This page explains what personal data we handle, why, and what you can do about it. Last updated 17 October 2026.

What we store

  • Your account: your name, e-mail address, language, a password hash (if you chose a password) and which Google account you have linked (if any).
  • Clubs and competitions: what organizers enter – players' names, optional full names and e-mail addresses, results, events, photos and texts. A player does not need an account; organizers may add people who have never logged in.
  • Access: which clubs you are a member of, your role, and requests to join.
  • Technical data: a session cookie that keeps you logged in, and short-lived server logs with IP addresses, used to stop abuse such as password guessing.

Why

To provide the service you or your club asked for: showing standings, letting organizers manage results, and letting you log in. E-mail addresses are only used for logging in, invitations and messages about your account or clubs. We do not sell data, show ads or use tracking or analytics cookies.

Who can see what

Competitions marked public – standings, events and results, with players' short names – can be seen by anyone with the link. Private competitions are only visible to the club's members. Players' e-mail addresses are only visible to the club's organizers.

Who helps us

The service, including the photos, runs on servers we rent in the EU/EEA. E-mail is sent through SparkPost (EU), which only processes data on our behalf.

How long

Your account is kept until you delete it (on your profile page). Club data is kept until the club deletes it or the club is deleted. Results you took part in stay in the club's history when you delete your account, as a player without an account; ask the club, or us, to remove them.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, or to have it corrected or deleted, by writing to eirik@hodne.it. You can also complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).
